I have been a professional writer for more than a decade, covering many topics from science-based articles to do-it-yourself home decorating. I received my degree in English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and concentrated on science courses, particularly astronomy, to round out my education.

My publishing credits include the book Badger Brain Twisters (Nov 2007) and a portion of The Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Universe (July 2001). I worked at Astronomy magazine editing and writing articles and corresponding with scientists and astrophotographers. I also wrote articles for Research Profile magazine, featuring a different scientist and the work he or she was doing in his or her field. Currently, I am writing weekly astronomy blogs for the Sierra Club. I wrote a children's book about the weather on other planets that will be published in 2012 from Sylvan Dell Publishing. My first novel, The Gathering Storm, is now available on Kindle at Amazon.com.

One of my hobbies is creating crossword puzzles, sudoku, and other games. My puzzles have appeared in Country Woman magazine, Wisconsin Trails, and numerous newspapers including the Plymouth Review, Independent Register and the Tomahawk Leader.

Follow me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/Astronomommy) for updates when I post new articles about space or anything else and get tidbits on what's going on in my daily life.
